José Aguinaga Fiel appointed to head KanAm Grund Group′s branch in Madrid

Since the middle of November, José Aguinaga Fiel (33) has worked for the KanAm Grund Group as an Associate Director, Head of Southern Europe in the Investment and Asset Management Europe department. At the same time, he has taken on the role of Head of the Spanish branch of the KanAm Grund Group in Madrid. From Madrid, José Aguinaga Fiel will be responsible for the purchase and sale of real estate in southern Europe, being responsible for both the strategic and operational asset management of the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian real estate portfolios. He will report to Anthony Bull-Diamond, Director and Head of Investment and Asset Management in Europe.

With his wide-ranging real estate expertise covering various types of uses as well as his outstanding knowledge of the southern European market, José will be an excellent addition to our team.’

José Aguinaga Fiel has been working in the real estate industry for almost 10 years. Before joining KanAm Grund Group, he worked as Deputy Investment Director for residential and health care properties at Azora, the largest independent property investment manager in Spain.
Previous positions included Investment Director with a focus on commercial real estate, mainly in Spain and Portugal, at Catella Asset Management, and Head of GLL Real Estate Partners GmbH in Madrid. José Aguinaga Fiel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Administration from ESB Business School in Reutlingen and ICADE in Stuttgart/Madrid, with the main focus on mathematics, risk analysis and finance. 

KanAm Grund Group’s Spanish branch, which was established at the beginning of the year, is situated in the centrally located Torre Europa high-rise building on Paseo de la Castellana in the AZCA district of Madrid. With the simultaneous opening of the branches in London and Dublin and the existing offices in Paris and Luxembourg, the KanAm Grund Group wishes to consolidate the establishment of a platform throughout Europe with decentralized asset management. 

The real estate market in Spain, and especially in Barcelona, is becoming increasingly important in the investment strategy of the KanAm Grund Group. Since 2021, a total of seven properties with an aggregate volume of about EUR 350 million have been acquired. The properties in the KanAm Grund Group’s portfolio in Spain have a total market value of over EUR 440 million.
