Jacob Pretzell strengthens institutional funds management at KanAm Grund Group

Jacob Pretzell has joined KanAm Grund Group’s institutional investment fund business. A business graduate who also qualified as a real estate economist at the International Real Estate Business School (IREBS) at the University of Regensburg, the 46-year-old was appointed as Director of Fund Management at the beginning of January 2022. His tasks will include the management of specialized real estate funds for KanAm Grund Group – particularly those focused on public tenants in Germany and other European countries – in addition to the strategic development of investment fund plans. Mr. Pretzell will also be responsible for the operational implementation of measures relating to investment funds. He has worked in the real estate sector for more than 15 years and has extensive experience of investment fund management, including investment fund monitoring and investor support, as well as setting up and structuring of funds for institutional investors. He has also worked in the area of asset and property management of commercial buildings for international investors. Before joining KanAm Grund Group, Jacob Pretzell was for several years Director of Fund Management at GEG German Estate Group GmbH/DIC Asset AG. Other previous posts include Senior Asset Manager at Mayfield Property GmbH.

KanAm Grund Group, based in Frankfurt am Main, now offers institutional investors nine specialized real estate funds with continuously expanding portfolios. Around 81 percent of the real estate assets are in institutional funds. KanAm Grund Group offers investments in real estate, predominantly for office and logistics use, in Germany, Europe and North America, according to the individual investor’s strategy.

In the case of specialized real estate funds, development and value add properties can be added or explicitly searched for, if these risk classes are requested by the investor and are in keeping with its profile.

Clients of this family of KanAm Grund Group specialized real estate funds include banks with their own securities deposits, companies and church assets, pension funds, and high net worth family assets.
